Can’t stop brass bolt fitting with fibre washer from leaking
I thought this would be a quick fix for my elderly neighbours who told me they had a leak coming from the connections from the water pump, to their underfloor heating.The actual pump is sound, and has no leaks
All the bolt connections are brass for what I believe to be 30mm piping (as it’s definitely wider than 20mm).
So I removed all the signs of limescale . Cleaning all the fittings. Replacing the old fibre washers. With new ones from a new selection kit from ‘S——F—x’
However, every time we turn the water back on, it leaks at the bolts. So I’m at a complete loss as to how a simple job in principle, has turned into a nightmare
I’ve even tried using rubber washers instead of the fibre type. Getting a new selection kit from ‘-&-‘. Bit it still leaks
I’m aware of things like Liquid PTFE and White Bond. But if the system didn’t have that before, surely it shouldn’t need it now.
