Faulty AAV
Hi I have sewer smells coming into a downstairs toilet of property about 40yrs old. All sinks and toilet/ washing machine drain very well and main sewer checked for blockages. I cut hole in plywood panel behind toilet to find a push fit OsmaVent 4S304 valve which i guess has deteriorated. These seems expensive £80-100 so my question is can I fit a cheaper alternative such as FloPlast ? Or do they have different specs etc?
Obviously im not a plumber

Yes, you can fit a cheaper alternative like a FloPlast air admittance valve (AAV) to replace your OsmaVent 4S304, provided they are the same diameter (110mm) and conform to the same British Standard. Most major UK plastic soil systems are compatible with each other.
Hi
Try Amazon there is a compatible alternative to you’re existing one.
Capricorn Pipe Aerator Ventilation Valve for Sanitary Installations DN 32 63, White
£19.73
Providing its the same diameter and would fit within the space then there is no reason why not.
