Common water main pipes
Can you tell me what the common types and sizes of pipes are for water mains?

If we are talking about mains pipe then 25mm to 32mm.
1/2 inch (15 mm), 3/4 inch (20 mm), 1 inch (25 mm), 1.5 inch (40 mm), 2 inch (50 mm), 3 inch (80 mm), 4 inch (100 mm), 6 inch (150 mm), 8 inch (200 mm), 10 inch (250 mm), 12 inch (300 mm), 14 inch (350 mm), 16 inch (400 mm), etc.
You get 20mm , 25mm 32mm in domestic housing and the pipes are MDPE ( blue plastic)
25mm MDPE is most common but can go up to 32mm in diameter. this is the incoming supply size. post stop cock it will commonly change to 22mm or 15mm copper
