Rumbling under house every five seconds
I keep hearing a rumble/rattling noise come from under my building every few seconds. It is loudest in the under stairs cupboard on the ground floor, but could be from the basement which is not accessible. The building is a Victorian detached with three flats in it. I have tried running all my taps all at once but it doesn’t make a difference. What could it be?

Pipes or HVAC: Plumbing or heating systems can cause noises that might sound like rumbling or particularly if water is running through pipes or if the heating system is cycling on and off.
The HVAC system underneath the house that releases water that is formed during the cooling and evaporation process. On older properties they have to have the trap (device that collects debris) checked and cleaned annually. Because the trap gets full of debris, water wouldn't be able to drain out of the HVAC system and out the pipe causing the build up of pressure in the HVAC system (cause of the rumbling noise underneath the house).
Could be u secure pipes or air lock
