How to deal with suspected leak
I live in a flat and have a water meter outside the property on the pavement, about 10m from my front door. My flat is upstairs.
I went online and found my last bill was about 19 times what previous bills were. I suspect a leak. I queried the bill and was told to speak to collections payment of bills). Can I get a plumber to check for a leak and will it mean digging up the tarmac surface along the length of the distance to my flat. I love in a block of flats.

Water meters can leak after the meter, so the leak is on the feed going into your house but on the path so meter shows as if you are using the water . Phone water company and get it checked, and make sure that you have no taps dripping check toilets and make sure you are not loosing water as new toilets have a internal overflow system snd can be hard to hear anything
