Need for overflow pipe?
Just had downstairs wc and sink changed and noticed overflow pipe on outside wall is no more. Do modern systems not require a overflow pipe anymore

A lot of WC flushes now don’t need a over -flow as it is built in to the siphon
Modern toilet systems typically have an internal overflow mechanism, so an external overflow pipe is no longer needed. This is a common feature in newer models.
