Does mains need to be turned off when disconnecting washing machine?

Hi, does the mains water supply need to be turned off when disconnecting a washing machine with one cold water inlet pipe or is switching the cold water inlet supply valve off enough. I cannot find my mains water tap, it's not under the sink and boiler has 3 taps attached... Confusing.

Advice from 3 local tradespeople

It should have an isolation valve where the washing machine pipe is connected therefore the mains don’t need to be off .

Should be a blue cut off for the cold water and a red cut off for the hot trun the blue anti clockwise should stop water going into to machine if no blue or red stop cock under sink or out the front of house

No not usually, unless there is somehow no washing machine tap (which is isolation) or the isolation is not working correctly.
