How to change a old style hot sink tap washer?
Do i turn water off switch off boiler and drain. Then unscrew tap from the middle
Advice from 2 local tradespeople
Isolate the hot water from the valve and unscrew the top of tap to remove cartridge
Always make sure you turn the stop cock off that’s normally located under the sink and run the taps to check the water has stopped and empty the pipes also you may have bullfix on your pipe work so useing a flat headed screwdriver turn to its vertical that will close the valve.
