Dripping tap which I can't get into
Hi there. I have a dripping tap in my bathroom basin. It has one tap but a separate handle on either side for hot and cold (placed horizontally so the unit looks like a T shape). I need to get into the 2 handles to replace the washers to stop the drip but there are absolutely no screws or grub screws or no caps to pop off. I'm at a loss. Can you advise please? Thank you. Advice from 3 local tradespeople
Remove the small cap from the lever and unscrew the lever using an Allen key.
Remove the lever and put it aside.
Remove the dome shaped part. Unscrew this with your hand and put it aside.
Unscrew and remove brass nut under the dome part.
Lift out the cartridge and replace with the new one.
Now you need to put the tap back together.
Some taps can be sealed units which means replacing the tap unfortunately
Most of these are accessible. You can turn of the water supply first and then you should be able to unscrew either of the two handles exposing the valve and washers
