Remove loo seat - mystery nut type
Struggling to remove a loo seat - There are no obvious ways of undoing anything on the top and on the underside of the bowl there is a nut type I can't figure out how to remove.
It seems like some kind of nylon/plastic nut and is v tight - there is one piece with three prongs fanning out like a flower although these are not the right orientation to grip like a wing nut. There is then a circular plastic nut sitting tight below/within this which I can't get at either.
Have tried pliers, heating it a bit and a doddler tool (which doesn't fit the fanning out part).
Any suggestions welcome as I'm now a bit stuck!

Usually there are covers on the top that hide the screw to release the nylon screw underneath, usually a flat chrome plate that you can peel off with a flat head screw driver
Drill with small bit
Remove all the bolts and nuts and then lift the seat off the bowl. Place all of this in the plastic bag, seal it and dispose. If the seat is attached with a traditional metal bolt and metal nut, grab your socket wrench and fit it over the long bolt that grips the nut. Turn the nut counterclockwise to loosen.
Hi some of these toilet seat fittings are underneath the silver circle either side of the seat.
You can remove these with a flat head screwdriver and under that will be a screw to either tighten or loosen
Hi there, in most cases old toilet seat screws are very difficult to unscrew, because corrosion, not enough space to operate with tools and etc. Your very best bet is buy your self grinder and carefully cut it of without damaging toilet bowl. Will save you time and aggravation!
