Charges for an adhoc repair while round to quote
Hi there, we recently contacted a plumber to request a quote for a series of small jobs (replacement bathroom sink with new tap, new bath taps and plug, and to fix a downstairs sink tap).
The plumber in question called back to say he'd had a job cancel and so could come round that afternoon to quote. While at the house he said the downstairs tap was a quick fix (washer and new nut) and asked if we wanted him to do it. Perhaps sillily on my part I just said yes and didn't check the charge; he was here about 40mins.
What would you expect in that situation? An hour's labour and the charge for the washer and securing nut? Or a callout charge and no parts? I ask because he charged us a call out and it seems higher than I would have thought.
