Cold water supply?

I will be shortly, slowly, updating a 2 bed semi for a family member. Any gas work, including new combi boiler will be installed by registered contractor, final electrics also. I am basically dealing with the first fix.
Ex builder, not plumber, now OAP with a query.
So, question: I'm concerned about cold water supply, namely, from incoming stop cock I am thinking of 3 take-offs - 1. boiler 2. shower 3. all other outlets. Assuming a 'tree' at the incoming stock cock would this be practical, ignoring the amount of additional copper tube, as a way of ensuring priorities of supply.
Or am I making too much of the issue?
Any comments appreciated, pro-active preferred. :)
