Pinprick Leak
Of all the times to spring a leak, one of mine has done it in lockdown. I need some plumbing advice on how to do a temporary fix until lockdown is over.
The leak is on a copper elbow / corner piece. Guessing its a pin prick sized hole as the drop forms very slowly before falling. Its probably been doing it quite a while since the ceiling plasterboard is sodden (which is how I found it).
Is it safe to leave it with a bucket underneath it or should I be looking to patch it with something?

Leaving it with a bucket underneath will be absolutely fine. What is the pipe feeding? Is there any controlling valve that can control the leak?
Really need to stop it if the ceiling is already sodden. If it gets to heavy it can come down. Could be the elbow a compression joint or welded joint.
Our insurance becomes void if we give unorthodox methods of plumbing. I suggest getting a plumber in. I work during lockdown.
As its on a elbow it would be best to make a hole in the ceiling where the leak is, firstly this will stop any more damage to the ceiling and secondly it will also let the water in to the bucket without soaking the ceiling.
Whoever comes to fix it will have to gain access to the pipe so they will only have to make a hole in the ceiling anyway. It would be best to get someone who can then fix the water leaking and repair the ceiling as well.
