LED bulb flashes when switched off

The LED bulb we bought from IKEA flashes for a short time when the light switch is off! Why? Is there a problem with my electrics?

Sounds like you have residual voltage leak this is caused by 2 way switching meaning if you can switch the light from another area the control wire between the 2 switches causes this residue and led`s are more prone to this.

No it's simply discharging, more common with the lower end LED lamp

Hi, possibly a switching or connection problem on the lighting circuit. Also it could be a faulty bulb.

Faulty transformer

Hi. Is it a spotlight? And is it on a dimmer? Either of these can cause this to happen.

It could be problem in light switch itself.

There is not a problem with your electrics, the led work on 12v normally and so there is usually an inbuilt transformer. The flas you see would be the transformer discharging.

Switch will be compatible with halogen lights and light might be led so switch and bulb must be compatible
