Advice from 16 local tradespeople
As there is many different types of car charger it impossible to give a rough price however we can guarantee 24/7 will always be competitive and fairly priced.
120£
we charge 69.99£ per hour excluding materials
Roughly between £800-£1200 depending on materials and run could be cheaper if short run
From £150 + parts for a fast charger.
From £50 + parts for a dedicated EV 13a socket.
Approx £1000 if it is a car charger
Unfortunately you would be unable to use a outside socket to supply an Electrical Vehicle Charging point, this circuit would need to be an independent circuit from Your consumer unit, the cost would depend on if you have a free way in your consumer unit, the distance from the consumer unit to the location of EV charger. Without viewing the job, I would estimate about £220+VAT plus the EV Charger itself
It’s depends of how far it’s from consumer unit.
Price may be also variable depend of location as price for electrician hour it’s different in London and slightly different outside
Before you even think about fitting a vehicle charger there are checks that need to be done in the property
You may require a new consumer unit just for the charger
The EV cable
The charger they vary so much but the installer will be able to advise
The total cost may be from £750 to £1500
The cost of installing an electrical charge point in your driveway can vary depending on several factors, including the type of charger, the complexity of the installation, and your location. On average, you can expect to pay between £450 to £1,200 for a standard installation. If you do not have any existing outdoor sockets, additional wiring may be required, which can increase the cost. It is advisable to get a quote from a certified electrician who can assess your specific situation and provide an accurate estimate. Additionally, you might be eligible for government grants or incentives to offset the installation cost.
Ev. Chargepoint installation varies from £500 to & £1000 depending on which chargers you opt for and length of cable run
The cost of installing an electric vehicle (EV) charge point on your driveway for a standard semi-detached home typically ranges from £800 to £1,500. This price range includes the supply and installation of a standard 7kW charge point, which is the most common option for home charging.
Several factors can influence the overall cost:
• Cable Run Length: If your consumer unit (fuse board) is far from the desired charge point location, it may require more cable and additional labour, which can increase the cost.
• Consumer Unit Upgrades: If your existing consumer unit does not have enough capacity, you may need an upgrade, adding to the total cost.
• Groundworks: If there is a need to dig trenches or conduct groundworks to lay the cable, this could also raise the price.
• Smart Charging Features: Some chargers come with extra features, like app control or scheduled charging, which can impact the cost.
Government grants, such as the EV Chargepoint Grant for homeowners in certain situations, may be available to help reduce the cost of the installation. Be sure to check if you’re eligible.
For the most accurate quote, it’s best to have a qualified installer conduct an on-site survey. This ensures all your requirements are met, and any potential issues are accounted for.
Roughly will be between £300-500 including materials ie cables from consumer unit, fuse breaker and other materials needed but not the car charger itself
Hi. It all depends of where is your Consumer unit located inside the house, how many amps is the car charger rated, cable used for it (SWA, twin and earth) etc
It can vary from 200£ to £1000
Its quite difficult to quote blind
Many factors play into a price
Access
Length of run
Difficulty of run
Cable required
Any additional works to consumer unit
I would say you should be looking between £250 - £500 depending on what is needed
By qualified electrician
It would cost around 1000+ but you can apply for a grant in which it takes it down to around 600 650
