Cost of new electrical socket?
Could you tell me how much I should expect to pay for creating a new socket. There is a light switch close by which helps I suppose!

Lights circuit can't be used for power sockets, it's a different size cable
Unfortunately, the light switch will be of no help, as sockets must never be fed off the light switch/ circuit. The cost of having a new socket depends on the number of sockets you require, and how far the existing healthy sockets or your consumer unit(if you have any spare way) is going to be from the new socket/s. Giving more information based on this will help to determine a reasonable cost.
Light Switch does not really help, as new socket will have to come from an existing socket or circuit breaker board

socket uses higher power and cost will differ on how much work it is to install, floorboard lifting etc
