How to remove painted lining paper?

If it’s to hard to get off probably best to board over it or blue grit it

With a steamer

youll need to remove the lining paper before skimming, Score the paint with a paper tiger or sharp blade, soak with warm water or wallpaper stripper, then scrape off. A steam stripper works best. Once off wash down seal with a PVA or SBR, then skim.

Score paper hot water and a steamer and scrape when damp enough

Remove every bit of lining paper and plaster back to existing wall. Prime surface for finishing plaster

Personally, a wallpaper steamer and a good scraper. Steamer softens it and the scraper... well... scrapes it.

You can use a spray of water but a steamer makes it 100x easier.

Get a cheapo one from b&q or ask a friend to borrow one.

6. Prime the Wall: After the wall is completely dry and repaired, apply a bonding primer to help the new plaster adhere properly.
7. Skim the Wall: Once the primer has dried, you can begin skimming the wall with new plaster.

The best way to remove would be to score the lining paper in a diagonal pattern,
Wet the walls with a spunge,
Wait for the water to soften the paper and scape off with a thin 4 inch filling knife ,
You will be able to perchace one at any good hardware store.
I advise not to use a steamer as in my experience over 30 years they can increase the risk of damaging the plaster works.

Best way to remove paper is with a steamer/wall paper remover

If it's painted and nothing is loose I wouldn't bother removing it i would prepare the surface with a gritted primer 24 hours in advance of re-plastering as is to a paintable suface

Use steamer to remove existing lining paper.

scratch the wall with the scraper for removing paint ,cleaning and after use the steamer to remove wall paper

Using a steamer and scraper

soak the paper in warm soapy water or a mild sugar soap solution to make it pliable. After around ten minutes, it'll be ready to remove with a filling knife

I would need to remove using steam to get back to a suitable surface to plaster

Take the paper out with the steamer it’s easy to remove

Hi if we apply moisture (water )it will be easy to remove it

Use wall paper steamer to remove all wallpaper clean the wall apply PVA glu with paint roller or brush put plastering tape on any small crack on wall apply 1st coat of plaster flat it out and apply 2nd coat plaster and smooth the wall.

I will use steamer and after paper can be removed easily.
