Plaster on top of lining paper

the paper should be removed first cause after will blow up and will look bad specially after paint.
So better to take it off!

I will suggest to remove it and let the wall to dry.

if it is just the edge i wouldnt panic too much but i wouldnt personally plaster over a full papered wall

I'd remove any wall paper before skimming it but I've heard that if you PVA bond the wall the night before it can be skimmed the next day

Yes before plaster any walls or ceilings if any lining paper on walls must be removed at all times also you must prepare the walls/ceiling apply a pva coat allow to dry then replaster

Hello remove lining paper. U cannot plaster on top 9/10 times lining paper will bubble up and plaster just gonna feel off.

It can be done as it is only being feathered in but it is only if the paper is really stuck/sound on the wall ... I always remove the paper personally because it can bubble up and cause problems ...

Hi I would have insisted the paper removed before the plastering was started as the damp plaster could lift paper and create bubbles were paper lifts but that's might be just me hope this helps Danny.

No the lining paper should be removed or heavily scratched to allow plaster to stick to plaster board or wall that are skimmed

Also did the builder bond the walls first before plastering.

Lining papper as with all wall papper should be removed before the plastering begins as the water and heat off plaster will activate the papper glue and can and will give no grip for the plaster
