Flush Button position
I am having a new toilet installed. It is a back to wall toilet with cistern in a vanity untThere is a choice of position for the flush button, on top of, or in the front panel of the unit.
Is there a difference in functionality or effective flushing between the two positions please? Thanks in advance.

No there’s not any difference on functionality
But I will suggest on the front .
You can use the top like shelf.
So you don’t need anytime you flushing to remove stuff from your way.
When installing a back-to-wall toilet with a cistern in a vanity unit, the positioning of the flush button (either on top or in the front panel of the unit) typically does not affect the functionality of the flush or the effectiveness of flushing. Both positions are designed to trigger the flush mechanism in the cistern, so you’ll get the same flush performance regardless of whether the button is on top or in the front panel.

• Flush Button on Top: If the flush button is placed on top of the vanity unit, it’s usually more accessible when you’re standing directly over the toilet. This is a common choice for ease of use.
• Flush Button on the Front Panel: A button placed in the front panel (at the door or near the opening of the unit) may be a more accessible option if the vanity unit is deep or if you have limited space on top. It can be easier to reach from the outside of the unit without having to open the lid or drawer.

The position of your flush button doesn't really matter weather top or side, what maters is the amount of water your flush discharges per flush and that can be adjusted on the flush unit.
I will recommend put flush botton in front panel so you can make use of the top panel for storage.
If it’s a pressure flush, it will still work in either position.
