Could a turned-off electric shower cause air leaks?

Ems I am pressure testing a new wet room. The shower seems to have a slight leak, but all joints seem good. Could a pumped electric shower (turned off at mains) allow air through?

Advice from 2 local tradespeople

It is possible even if it's uncommon if the non return valve fails, the pump seal have worn out !

Yes
