Will door bars cause gaps between doors and carpet after fitting?
We've had new carpet installed in our hallway and four bedrooms. It's the exact same carpet throughout. I considered seaming the carpet instead of using door bars but the fitter said that bars give a better finish. But the total thickness of the carpet and underlay is about 20mm and the carpet ramps down into the bar and then back up the other side. I'm concerned that when the doors go on they will have to shave them down to be able to get over the carpet but when shut there will be a large gap between the bottom of the door and the bar. Is that right?

There will be a gap but if the doors are shaved correctly it will be minimal
The door bars fitted are correct, no invisible join can be guaranteed, So some seemed doorways might differ, You could have wooden thresholds, so carpet will all be the same level.
