Flooding in garden
I recently discovered puddles of water in my garden. Yorkshire water investigated and said the water was coming from my neighbour, who had holes under the manhole in his garden and it is his responsibility to repair. Why then do the puddles get worse when it rains or my washing machine empties? Apparently my drains are completely clear.

I would do a dye test and charge the system with water while a stopper is in place down stream , that will tell you if your joints in the pipe work are leaking. Don’t panic it won’t need to be excavated and replaced , research CIPP lining. That’s what we specialise in at LGR Drainage LTD
The water is coming up through the ground. Any extra water hitting the surface will naturally pool. This won’t be fixed until your neighbour sorts his issue out. I would fully expect your drains to be clear if his has holes in it
You might have shared drainage systems and since your neighbour’s has holes under the manhole even the water from your washing machine ends up back in your garden.
because the water as no where to run away to so 1 the holes need filling in also maybe a soak away may be needed to stop the flooding the main factor is to get the manhole looked at which is down to your neighbour as its there responcability to get it looked at.
