Solution to wrong size of mixer taps?
I have the old style bathroom sink with separate hot and cold water faucets. I wanted to replace these with a mixer tap but ordered the wrong size. Should I just have a plumber remove the existing hot and cold water taps, fill the holes with tap hole stoppers, and drill two new holes that fit the new mixer taps?

I would suggest returning the items and getting the correct fittings , filling in the holes with stoppers is only an easy fix and never looks great . Returning and getting g the right fittings will take some more time but at least you will have the job done correctly .
