How to stabilise concrete with steel rebar roof which is flaking?
I have an outside stand alone bricked out building, that has a concrete with steel rebar roof that is cracking, but mainly flaking.
The concrete is flaking off mainly where the steel rebar is behind.
I think the concrete still has the support from the bar and I do one day plan to renew fully. However at the moment I can't. So my question is how can I stabilise the concrete to stop this flaking, what could I put on it?

Concrete Bonding Agent: Apply a concrete bonding agent to the cleaned surface. This helps new concrete or repair mortar adhere to the old concrete.
Patch the Concrete:
Repair Mortar: Use a high-quality concrete repair mortar to fill in areas where the concrete has flaked off. Ensure the mortar is well-suited for outdoor use and can bond to existing concrete.
Seal the Surface:
Concrete Sealer: Once the repair mortar has cured, apply a concrete sealer. Choose a sealer that is water-resistant and designed for exterior use. This will protect the concrete from moisture penetration and further damage.
Repair mortar by using a high quality concrete repair mortar and fill in areas where it’s flaked off make sure it’s suitable for outdoor use then when cured apply concrete sealer
Best option is to break it and fix new one because is very dangerous

I suggest the best practice would be to install a waterproof membrane to protect this from flaking more I.e bitchumen etc to prevent the water ingress from further damage
removing loose concrete, cleaning and treating exposed steel reinforcement, and then applying a suitable repair material
Using a good quality concrete repair compound.
