Toilet flushing
Help! My toilet stopped flushing, I searched the net, found the problem was probably a worn flapper. I bought the full kit, a Dudley 88, which was the same model as in the tank. I fitted it, fairly straightforward, but it refuses to dump the water, just trickels the water so that it only comes out half way round the bowl, stirring what is in the bowl, but not enough to get rid of it, and the water keeps flushing. Lifting the float valve up empties the tank and you get the glug glug of the syphon resetting. I changed the float valve just in case, the water comes up the the right level.
I took the whole thing out again and put in a new flapper, just in case. Same thing. The lift arm is correct, straight and not touching anything. It is an old toilet, not close coupled,, with side water entry. Any ideas?
