Any solution to electric plugs left sticking out of the wall?
I had some plasterers come plaster a room. When they came they said they had to fully strip the scratch coat to the lath because plaster wouldn't stick. They did that in half the room not the other half.
They finished today and left before I saw the room.
They left electric sockets about a centimetre out of the wall. I asked if the final wall would be the same thickness and they had said it would. What am I meant to do? They just want to get paid but not fix it. They even mentioning just putting wallpaper on the wall or caulking it but it's a cm. Is there a solution?

Yes is solution when somebody live like this. Is like plastic frames round the soakets I think I this my idea
the only solution is to break next to the outlet, take it out, dig a little more until it is level with the wall, and after mounting it, cover the edges with plaster
If I'm to understand this correctly the socket back boxes are now protruding out past the level of the new wall, there's a possibility of chasing the back boxes further into the wall, however with lathe and plaster this may be tricky as the back boxes may be fixed to the timber studs.... I'd recommend you consult an electrician to see if the can reposition the back boxes

Was wrong from the beginning.
They supposed to apply a bonding solution for plaster as Bostic Cementone Plasterers stabilising primer prior to the new plaster without to remove anything.
You have few solutions but will not be cheap, as:
1) if you have normal wall boxes for your sockets or switches, replace those with slim wall boxes.
2) you can render the walls and leave 2-3 mm for plaster and re- apply the plaster after
3) the cheapest way is to design a wall face plate around the sockets and switches.
You can get londer screws to reach socket if wall is thicker than before
electrical plugs are installed by an electrician and he should place them at the right distance from the wall, plasterer sometimes cannot apply enough plaster to cover it because it would look very bad and unprofessional
No there is no Solution they messed that right it's all got be squared off and level theres no excuse of a bodge job. Reason plaster couldnt stick was proberly because it was to watery. Plaster when mixed should look like weetabix texture
Ask them to correct there work if this is not down to electricians work
The wall should of had the correct thockness of plaster to bring it to the required position.
You can either get an electrician to put the socket back box deeper.
Or
Replaster the full wall
U can re bed the box an re set the hole socket or as they recommend caulk round ur socket
Its not ideal, you.could either re ajust the.whole.socket and push further into.the wall or the other option would be to silicone it.
The walls needs to be plastered again bringing the wall out to the edge of the socket boxes
Get them in to fix the problem before paying
The answer isn’t to pay again to put it right you should get them back if they won’t then report them to trading standards or court
Build around the area with bonding thick at the socket back to nothing around 1 foot from the sockets and reskim the area.
They should be sorting this themselfs. They can either recess the sockets the cm that it’s proud or they should have advised boarding everywhere before they started. Either way no plasterer should be telling you to wall paper fresh plaster ever.
reinstall the socket deeper to make it flush with the wall
A simple solution would be to remove the back box for the socket and get a narrow back box instead of the existing one and this will solve the problem
Failing this you could always chisel out more of the brickwork so the socket sits further back
either a plaster to come in and re board and plaster
An electrician to come and cut wall back for socket to fit correctly
