Waiting time before applying mist coat to plaster?

How long I need to wait before being able to apply a mist coat to fresh plaster please?

Advice from 7 local tradespeople

Please allow a minimum of 3 days before applying paint to fresh plaster, in colder areas the drying time could be longer

Till the plaster is properly dried it is all depends on temperature

Need to wait until the plaster is completely dry between 3/7 days

Always dependent on temperature. We would say from after 4 days.

Depends what paint you are using if you are using a contract matt you can go on when not fully dry as it will let the moisture dry throughout if you using any other paint let it dry completely

Depending on the plaster you should wait 7 day or fully dry and your plasterer should explain the colour changes till dry

We always recommend at least one week to allow water to dry out - but there are circumstances that dictate this like room temperature and fresh air flow / best advice is to wait until the whole wall goes light pink and always use a breathable paint for the first 12 months not a vinyl paint as plaster will always be drying for first 12 months and this will make vinyl paint peel - hope this helps but it you need more advice please
