Skim take ages to go off
Is anybody having trouble with there skimming at the moment ... seems to take ages to go off and is nowhere near as good as it used to be ..

I be live it's got glue in it now so don't have to pva walls.but it's better than going off to quick
Its all depending on how you use the multi finsih which additives you use and plus the cold weather plays a massive part in it

The standard going off time from when it's first applied to the wall or ceiling is generally 2 hours. This can vary slightly dependant of the temperature of the room and how thick you have applied it also.
What are you using. Or was the bag left open. Try when mixing it use a little warm water and give it a good mix.
From the time you mix up your first coat of plaster you have approximately 3 hours to get it flat, smooth and level. For the plaster to fully dry and cure it takes around three days.

yes i plastered a ceilling last week it took 4 hours to go off and the plaster on the ceilling is still not dry and i been plastering for 21 years and i never had is befor
