Hanging weight (clock) on dot and dab wall

Hi, have a dot and dab (i think) wall in an extension that covers the previous brick corner of the original house. Trying to hang a clock on this wall. I want to get a plug into the brickwork but when drilled in, there was no hollow gap as expected. Wondering if i’ve hit a glue spot, drill also didn’t seem to hit brick at all. So possibly just super unlucky and hit mortar,
But wanted to get advice on next steps from professionals before making the living room wall swiss cheese.
