Wallpapering over boxing-in of pipes
I have had a pipe boxed in to the side of my front door and wanted to wallpaper paper over this to hide the box and match the rest of hallway. The box is attached to the front door architrave and runs almost flush with this (the box sits back by just a few millimetres). If the pipe box is papered will it likely peel without more of an edge from the architrave to sit against? Should I ask the joiner to make the pipe box protrude less from the wall so the door architrave is more prominent to create an edge? And if so, how much of an edge is sufficient to prevent the wallpaper from peeling. I plan to use lining paper and a thick wallpaper as it is an old house. Thank you

Put an edge on the boxing and apply a lot of wall paper paste on it. I would do the boxing out of plaster board and make sure the surface is cleaned and wiped down and there and no air bubbles on the boxing when wallpapering is completely.
