Builder - notifying start date

Hi, unfortunately no one but the builder would be to give you a time frame due to jobs the have to complete or lined up etc

1 to 2 months a builder shouldn’t take the job on if they are to busy to do it within that time frame.

If it was me n had jobs on a would say 2weeks to 3 at most

Most builders like myself would be finishing off a job via quoting one. So id normally give month notice to get stuff in place and ordered .

Depending on the size or stories of the extension 2/6 months, bigger 2 story extension take more planning and structural engineers maybe needed! In most case work can start within 2 months

1-2 weeks upon customers approval is generally okay.

• Confirm a written start date
• Provide a programme of works
• Ensure drawings, structural details, and building control are all ready beforehand

Last-minute start-date changes are a red flag, but reasonable notice varies depending on how busy the contractor is and whether the client is fully prepared (approvals, selections, access, etc.).
