Prep for painting wood work?
I have previously painted satinwood doors and frames, what preparation is required to over paint with eggshell, if any ?

Sand so as to create key for eggshells and apply coating
Give the woodwork a light abrade with fine sand paper to key up the wood before painting, then give it two coats of undercover, then you can apply you eggshell.
Light sanding so it gives the paint a key to stick to . Fill any holes blemishes I use car filler it gives it a nice finish but that's my preference it's not for everyone as it goes off quickly. I always under coat then two top coats.
just lightly sand with 120 grade sand paper
Fine sandpaper
Rundown.undercoat
Then top paint
Wipe over with turps and allow to dry sand down and apply undercoat and then 2 finishing coats of eggshell
A light sanding down and you will be good to go
